Rates
Unlike other copyists transcribers and arrangers, my rates are clear and upfront. This page will explain everything that deals with rates for different services.
Copying and Engraving
Copying and Engraving is an Art form. There are a lot of people out there that know how to use notation software but few that have it mastered. I am currently studying film scoring at Berklee College of Music. Once I am out of college I intend on becoming an orchestrator. Therefore music preparation is what I do best.
The way that the price works is pretty simple. I charge $0.35 per measure, per staff. This unit is called a Frame. Just to clarify I have included some examples of copying work and the prices that would correspond with those pieces.

This example of a trumpet part would cost $9.8. Even though this tune is 57 measures long, there are only 28 measures with actual notes in them so that is what is charged. Unlike other copyists, I do not charge for blank measures*. I also do not charge for multi-measure rests. |

|
In this example there is a string quintet. The copying of this quintet piece with be $7. There are 5 parts, with 4 measures per part thus adding up to $7. Same rules apply for rests and multi-measure rests in scores as they do in parts*. For more information about pricings of score read further down on this page for Part Extractions. |
| Vocals/Lyrics |
|
The price of inputting lyrics into a score/part will be agreed upon by both the client and I. If the lyrics are clearly written out (that includes the correct division of syllables, etc. that you intend on using) then I am willing to waive any fees for inputting lyrics. Vocal parts will then follow the same rates as any other instrumental part. However, inputting lyrics does take some time if the division of syllables are not correct or if the calligraphy of the composer is unclear. I will then charge $3 per line of text (i.e. 1 verse would cost an additional $3. 2 verses and 1 chorus would be an additional $9). Read below for more information about Vocal and Lyric writing and copying. |
*There is no charge for blank measures when they show up in groups larger than 2.
Part Extractions
Unlike other Copyists and engravers, I do not charge another $.30 per measure, per staff for parts taken from a score. There is a flat fee of $1.50 per page of the part. So for instance, the first page of this score (click here to view ) would cost $4 to copy because there is no charge for blank measures. Also, the Flute part (click here to view ) would only cost $1.50 extra to produce because it is only 1 page. These are the most reasonable rates ANYWHERE!!!
Extra Fees
The only time that I will charge extra fees is when a project needs to be rushed. All fees will be discussed and agreed upon before we start so that there is no confusion or hidden fees at the end.
Vocals
I only do copy work for vocals that are written in English. All English syllables in the vocal arrangements must be separated as for what you would like to see in the final score. The following is an example:
